2024 Miata Trophy Season Preview

2024 Miata Trophy Season Preview

20 March 2024

Miata Trophy enjoyed a strong debut campaign in 2023 and, as a result, expectation and excitement for the upcoming 2024 season are high.

Anticipation has continued to ramp up during the off-season for a number of reasons. Firstly, the announcement that Miata Trophy will form part of the support package for Brands Hatch’s signature international event, Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, has caused a stir, as has the introduction of ND Class for Mk4 MX-5 drivers.

A fantastic, 16-round calendar will both offer plenty to competitors in terms of both thrills and challenges, as the championship continues to visit the UK’s finest circuits, including: Donington Park, Brands Hatch Grand Prix and Oulton Park. There will also be a first visit to the world-renowned Silverstone for the championship’s season opener on April 13th.

Amongst a whole host of familiar names set to return to Miata Trophy in 2024 is inaugural Champion Declan Lee. The Hills Motorsport driver has already outlined his ambitions at retaining the title, but given how competitive the field was last season it won’t be an easy feat for Lee. Expect another year of gripping, firm-but-fair racing for every point and trophy.

Miata Trophy’s weekend format proved incredibly popular with competitors last year and will remain in place for 2024. All the action taking place on a single day eliminates the necessity of overnight costs, while simultaneously maintaining a breathtaking weekend of racing. This also means that SuperPole, an all or nothing one-lap shootout for the front of the grid, returns in 2024, having been a cause of immense excitement and intrigue throughout last season.

Silverstone can’t come soon enough!
