Rounds 11 & 12 of the Miata Trophy championship come from the picturesque Oulton Park on Saturday 26 September!
As we near the final rounds of the 2026 season, Oulton Park sits in a pivotal position in the calendar, just ahead of the penultimate round at Snetterton on Saturday 10 October, and, season finale day at Brands Hatch on Saturday 14 November.
Current championship leader James Cossins will fancy his chances here, having taken pole at the circuit in 2025, before converting that pole into two strong podium finishes at the Cheshire circuit that year. But an in-form Declan Lee, second in the standings, will be keen to further close the gap at the top, coming off the back of a positive Donington Park event, that saw him claim a win and a second place, last time out.
Oliver Allwood will also be keeping an eye on proceedings here, having finished in the podium positions more often than not so far this season. But following a first DNF of the season at Donington Park, the AB Motorsport driver will be looking for a strong points haul at Oulton Park to keep him in championship contention come finals day.
The Masters category will also be one to keep an eye on, as Damon Wellman looks to continue the momentum that saw him take the overall class lead last time out at Donington Park. A consistent David Robinson will be looking to keep the pressure on however, as he makes his Miata Trophy debut at the circuit.
The road to victory in Miata Trophy is never an easy one, and as the championship battle continues to tighten, the reverse-grid Race 2 will add another variable to the day’s action. Our championship contenders will need to keep their wits about them as they navigate the race start and attempt to make their way through a motivated reverse grid, including previous race winners and past champions!
With only four rounds remaining following the Oulton Park event, teams and drivers will be looking to maximise their all-important points as they head to the penultimate round at Snetterton in just three weeks time.
