Miata Trophy Announce Yokohama as official control supplier from 2026

Yokohama is set to act as the official control tyre supplier for Miata Trophy from the 2026 season onwards.

This announcement means that all competitors of the single-make Mazda MX-5 championship will benefit from tyres provided by a globally renowned brand. Yokohama will provide its ADVAN A052 tyres, which have been developed for high performance and maximum grip on the track in both wet and dry conditions.

Competitors in all three classes of Miata Trophy will feel the benefit of the Yokohama ADVAN A052, with the move to the new control tyre underlining Miata Trophy’s key ethos of ensuring drivers are able to showcase their individual skills, on a level playing field.

As part of the new partnership, Yokohama have generously offered a discount from the RRP of the newly-nominated control tyre, for all competitors.

SCP Tyres will continue to be the official tyre distributor for the championship, offering a seamless transition for existing competitors.

MSVT Championships Manager Stuart Garland said: “We’re extremely excited to announce that Yokohama is set to become the official control tyre supplier for Miata Trophy. Having already tested the ADVAN A052 on our MX-5s, we know the high levels of performance that the tyre offers. We look forward to developing our relationship with Yokohama for the coming season and beyond.”

The Yokohama ADVAN A052 will also become the control tyre for MSVT’s Trackday Championship in 2026, to ensure that competitors can continue to race in both championships with a reduced financial outlay.
