2023 Season Recap

18 December 2023

Miata Trophy certainly didn’t disappoint in its debut season. The championship hosted some phenomenal on track action, with both brilliant overtakes and excellent defensive driving clearly demonstrated at each of the twelve races. Firm-but-fair racing was the precedent set right from the first race of the season and the philosophy produced some truly breathtaking motorsport.

The competitiveness of the grid was reflected by the wide array of drivers who took to the class podium places, including a variety of different winners! It wasn’t just the podium finishers who should be proud of their efforts though, as the entire grid put on a tremendous spectacle at every round.

Ultimately, after a season of hard battling, it was Declan Lee who became the inaugural Miata Trophy Champion - seeing off rivals to seal the title for Hills Motorsport on the final day of the season. A huge congratulations goes out to Declan and his team on their fantastic achievement. Special mention also goes out to Liam Cochrane, whose strong and consistent season resulted in the NA Class Championship title for the Turner Property Services Racing driver.
